Shea
Photographer & Storyteller
Shea is a photographer, teacher and mother. A career-educator with a passion for family advocacy and student equity, she has been a classroom teacher and school leader in a variety of roles over the last fifteen years. She has studied special and gifted education, math pedagogy and school leadership systems. Five years ago, she left the classroom role and launched her photography business focused on in-home documentary storytelling, inspired by the unseen work of early motherhood. The work has grown to tell the stories of female-founded businesses, from creative entrepreneurs to nation-wide organizations. Shea leads groups of women to make and share honest self-portraits as a form of care and renewal. Her work has been featured in a variety of blogs and magazines, including Dear Photographer, The Kindred Voice and LoHi Magazine.
Shea’s home is a happy hum of her three little girls reading stacks of books and making beautiful messes. There are many treasures from the backyard garden, and often warm smells rising from the stove. She is inspired by spending time in the company of strong women and laughing with her husband as they plan their next outdoor adventure.
Emelia
Yoga
Emelia likes to think she is as down-to-Earth as a 6th-generation Coloradoan could be! Through three decades in yoga study, practice and profession, she has found that teachings offer both a vast expanse of philosophical rabbit-holes to explore OR simple, fool-proof recipes for accessing our inherent joy and calm. what’s your fancy?
Amy
Dance Improvisation & Community
Amy Trapani-Bowen tried on her first leotard at the age of 6 and decided then and there she wanted to grow up and become a dancer. She studied ballet all throughout high school and was awarded a Distinguished Artist Award to study Dance at Hope College in Holland, MI. There she received a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Psychology. After she graduated she went right to the University of Utah to complete an M.F.A. in Modern dance with an emphasis on Choreography. Amy moved to Denver in 1996 to dance professionally and teach with Kim Robards Dance. Her curiosity and love for the body and alignment inspired her to get certified in Pilates from the Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. She then taught Pilates for Cara Reeser at Pilates Aligned while still performing professionally for Still Moving Dances. In 2005 Amy decided to stay home and dance in her living room while raising her children.
She is thrilled to be back in the dance world to dance, teach, and share her love of movement with the community at Moovment House and anyone else who will meet her by the light of the moon.
